Final Fantasy XV - Before the Storm

A return to the game's roots. Journey with the Royal Retinue in both story and mechanics as they were when the game launched.

Requires a New Save

Save files retain data that will be removed with this mod. It's best to create a new save folder when using the mod, but making a new save file will also work. This way, your saved data matches the game's actual contents after enabling the mod.

 

This update reverts several changes that were made to the game over time. The changes being reverted are as follows:

• The Ring of Lucii has been adjusted to its pre-patch status. The Death ability no longer deals damage, and most enemies' immunities to it have been restored. The Holy ability's damage output has been halved and its recovery time increased, while MP recovery per cast has decreased. The perfect Holy version triggered by a last-second dodge has been removed. The Alterna ability's chance of killing enemies has decreased and immunity has been restored to every enemy that had it.
• The Insomnia City Ruins dungeon and new sidequests featuring enemies such as Cerberus, Omega, and the Rulers of Yore have been removed and reverted to their pre-royal edition state, including the return of Behemoth King.
• All previously available downloadable content from the season pass, pre-order, weapons, outfits, Regalia car skins, accessories, and item sets have been removed. The Archives and local myths and legends have been removed, and the Regalia Type-D and its accompanying quests have been removed as well. Players can no longer fully control the royal vessel boat or fish aboard it, and the Armiger Unleashed accessory has been removed.
• The photo contest display at Galdin Quay has been taken down, and players can no longer take manual snapshots in-game, only autosnapshots from Prompto.
• The Ascension grid, including the Wait Mode Ascension tree, has been reverted. The "Monster Whistle" summoning feature, galleries for obtained fish and recipes, the ability for Noctis to warp outside of battle and shop from the Regalia, and the ability to freely change field music and access the main menu while the Regalia is in "Auto" mode have been removed. Rushlink system and its corresponding quest have been removed. The party can no longer swap leaders in combat, only allowing for the control of Noctis.
• The New Game Plus option, chapter select, and DLC have been removed. The level cap has been decreased from 120 to 99, and the ability to listen to the in-game music player while riding a chocobo and all the new limited-time quests and contests have been removed. Health no longer regenerates non-temporary damage outside of combat.
• Crossover events with Terra Wars and Final Fantasy XIV and their associated items have been removed.
• Scenes from Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV and Omens Trailer that were added to the game have been removed.
• The added Chapter 5 cutscene with Ardyn after the conclusion of the party's encounter with Titan has been removed. Chapter 13-2 has had its alternate route options with Gladiolus and Ignis removed, Succarpe in Chapter 10 has been reverted back as well, and chapter 12’s Vogliupe’s train sequence with Shiva has been reworked.
• Ifrit's appearance has been reverted back to his non-scourge form used in early versions of the game. Reverted the post-credit cutscene with Luna to its 1.0 status, as well as all corresponding event scripts. Reverted Galdin Quay and Hammerhaed to their 1.0 status, to ensure complete removal of the photo contest.
•  All mods using the Steam Workshop system have been removed, incidentally resulting in faster time to boot up the game, especially if paired with the Intro Skip mod.
• Update 08/08/2023: Original ending post-credit cutscenes for both the final camp and the Royal Wedding have been restored, and Jarred flashbacks have been removed.

 

Overall, this update is designed to revert various features and changes that players may have found changed the balance, story or pacing of the game in ways that altered the overall experience.

• シーズンパス、プリオーダー、武器、衣装、レガリアカースキン、アクセサリー、アイテムセットなど、以前に利用可能だったすべてのダウンロードコンテンツが削除されました。アーカイブや地元の神話伝説も削除され、レガリアタイプDとそれに付随するクエストも削除されました。プレイヤーはもはやロイヤルバッセルボートを完全に制御したり、その上で釣りをすることはできず、アーマージャンルシュアクセサリーも削除されました。
• フォトコンテストの展示はGaldin Quayから撤去され、プレイヤーはもうゲーム内で手動スナップショットを撮ることができず、Promptoからのオートスナップショットのみになりました。
