Eastward Journeys mod for Minecraft adds new biomes and content based on east asian locations. This mod adds new diversity to the Minecraft universe. The mod includes biomes, tree types, decoration, weapon skins, and more!

This mod revives Cherry Blossom Grotto which supported Minecraft up to version 1.19.4. This mod removes features which are no longer needed, updates others to make them more useful and improves on its original experimental features.

You may run into some problems with the new blocks that this mod adds if you upgrade your world to 1.20.2. In this situation, it would be best to start a new 1.20.2 World.

Setup & Dependencies

It is only a Forge Mod. There are currently no plans to release a Fabric version or Quilt Version.

Minecarft version 1.20 is currently supported

Minecraft Forge is required.

TerraBlender for biome generation!

Geckolib is a great tool for creating new armour and entities!

Both the client and server must be installed to use this mod.

Biome

• Stone Forest is a dense biome of jungle set within a Karst landscape with hills made from stone.
• Cherry Blossom Slopes: Snowy mountains with cherry trees, hotsprings and more.
• Cherry Blossom bamboo jungle - Bamboo forests peppered cherry blossom trees
• Eastern Forest: A mixed forest of oak, cherry and birch trees.
• Maple Woods: Woods with red maples, whose fallen leaves pile up on the ground.
• Maple & Oak Forest – Oak forest peppered by red maple trees
• Shrublands: A biome of desert with sparsely populated trees, and many cactii
• Hinoki Woods: Dense forests of hinoki tree
• The Giant Water Fir Forest is a forest with plenty of pools where rice pads are sometimes grown.

Structures

• Gazebos - small mysterious refuges which spawned in eastern forest regions
• Giant Buddha Statue: Large Buddha statue said to contain a secret
• Terracotta Tombs - ancient tombs guarded by an encircling maze of terracotta soldiers
• Great Wall: A giant wall with traps, mobs, and a long-winding dungeon.
• Torii Gate
• Cherry Blossom Village is a new village variant that features custom skins for the villagers and new structures found in Eastern biomes.
• Fallen Ancient Tree: Remains from a massive tree which has since fallen

Entities

• Koi is a fish with a wide range of patterns on its skin.
• Tanooki is a sly mammal who will steal food items that fall to the floor near it.
• Terracotta Warriors - Slow and ungainly warriors made from terracotta

Blocks

• Fence Model - Red Fence. New model fence painted in a vibrant red
• Paper Lanterns - A red lantern with a torch and made from paper
• Hidden trapdoors are doors that have the same skin as the blocks they were crafted from. This feature is supported by most vanilla stone and plank types.
• Zen Lanterns - stone lanterns inspired by eastern gardens
• Shoji Screens are paper screens that can be used as walls, but they do not block out light. They are frames that can be filled with shoji paper. There are light wood and dark variants of shoji screens
• Griddled Shoji Screens: A variation of the traditional shoji screen, with a wooden wood grid
• The shoji screens with heavy bottoms are gridded with wooden grids and have a board at the bottom.
• Shoji Screens in Half Size - A smaller version of the shoji screen
• Tatami Mats: A new type of carpet block that is available in different sizes and colors
• Enoki Mushroom Block
• The top of the block can be polished with a hoe, displaying different patterns.

Plants

• Enoki Mushrooms - small mushrooms growing in clusters on the wood or ground
• Shiitake Mushrooms - often seen growing on the sides of wooden blocks
• Flowers Cactus: Small succulents in bloom

Plants

• Rice paddy is a crop that only grows in soil that's one block under water.

• Shoji Paper: Sheets of painted paper with a specific pattern, determined by the item that is added to a crafting recipe. They are intended for use in an empty screen.

Currently, there are six shoji paper varieties:

• Base - No changes
• Cherry Blossom pattern - Add pink petals to the recipe for this design
• Add blue dye to your recipe for this wave pattern
• Add red dye to your recipe for this pattern
• Add black dye to your recipe for this pattern
• Add gold nuggets to the recipe for this pattern
