Ex Deorum was created by Erasmus_Crowley as a port to the companion mod Ex Nihilo for SkyBlock 1.7. Ex Deorum also borrows some ideas from Ex Nihilo Adscensio, by unascribed; YUNoMakeGoodMap, by LexManos; and Ex Compressum, by BlayTheNinth. However, Ex Deorum doesn't use any code from those mods.
Ex Deorum comes with a SkyBlock type right out of the package. The data pack contains all of the recipes for this mod. This mod is playable even without Ex Compressum, as the default recipes are limited to Vanilla Minecraft items.
The mod adds an item called a "watering can" as a replacement for bone meal, which should reduce the need to use mods such as Tree Growing Simulator. The six levels include a wooden can that is handed to you at the beginning of each world, along with the torch.
