It is a follow up to Aardvarks Weird Wonderful Wild, my mod for 1.16.5. Aardvarks Weird Zoology, with its 54+ creatures unique to it, isn't your typical animal mod. Instead of adding in the few, mostly decorative animals as other mods do, I wanted a reimagining what an animal mod can be. Every animal is an odd animal that we have in our world. Each animal has its own gameplay.
There's so much to discover and try out! From building kudzu farm with serows to finding rare ore with cuttlefish to using hoverflies to pollinate plants to even staying warm by using Markhors. This is also a great experience for skyblocks.
The Joyizers are a unique feature of Aardvark’s Weird Zoology. The machines will turn the animal's joy into resources. As you build exhibits you can increase your resource amount. The mod's JEI documentation explains which animals' joys produce what resources and what blocks raise the animal's happiness.
The animals are diverse! Each animal has its own animations, stages of life, and behavior!
But I'm not just talking about animals. Five new crops have been introduced.
Chickpeas will increase the nitrogen in your soil and make it more fertile for short periods of time.
The onions that you use to attract hoverflies will help your crop.
Kudzu is an excellent food, but it can grow quickly out of hand if left unchecked.
Another mentality that I would like to introduce is the fact that, while exploring is important, it is not necessary to search for hours in a rare habitat just to find one thing. The DNA can be obtained by digging up fossils and used to create your own. You can explore life in the past. The mod contains a few extinct species that are only found in this manner.
