As I no longer play classic, and Cataclysm removes spell ranks which would render this addon redundant, I no longer maintain this addon; but as of February 2024 it still seems to work with both WOTLK & Classic servers.
Will inform you about any outranked spells you use and provide an analysis window for them on your actionbars (*).
Summary windows (/hmr) allow for quick upranks of actionbars (*), along with providing comparison of previous and most current spell ranks to each other (only available with WotLk version due to classic API lacking functions necessary for such comparison).
*this addon was specifically made to work with the default Blizzard action bars; bartender, button forge and ElvUi will interfere with most HMR functionality including notification when casting outranked spells. I never tested HMR with these addons because my default action bars always met my needs - however they likely have their own system which my addon may not know about and therefore won't function with.
HintMeRank now comes equipped with both vanilla WoW and SOD support for maximum convenience.
Note: I no longer play vanilla WoW so this version will no longer be actively maintained (other than Wotlk version)
At present, this addon provides two services.
Watch Your Spell Casts, notifying you in both chat area and middle screen as soon as you cast outranked spells (those below the maximum rank allowed for your level)
Add two commands (/hmr and /hintmerank) which open a small window that examines your actionbars for any obsolete spells, enabling you to directly uprank them as well as compare current with newly available spell rankings by clicking the rank button.
Set HMR Notification-Delay to adjust how soon HMR notifies about use of outranked spell.
Current Languages of Instruction are DE, EN and FR (thanks to Chassemoss from Auberdine)
Feel free to translate any of the addon strings into your preferred language; the i18n dir is available within the addon folder if that's what's necessary.
Allow you to block certain notifications; also, watch other party member spells and list them within an info frame, plus act as a reminder for you to rank up spells you just learned.
This addon was inspired by RankWatch (now defunct) but its code differs significantly; HMR in general offers different results than its inspiration.
