GSE is a powerful macro-compiler for WoW. It doesn't care if the action is successful or not. The program sends commands to WoW, then moves to the next command. It allows you to use creative solutions in order to get around some of WoW’s limitations. GSE cannot break rules but can manage them better. Each command that is part of WoW's macros can be used by GSE.
GSE makes use of the idea of a block of commands. You may, for example, want to cast a magic spell or use a trinket while not targeting an enemy. You would then arrange them in GSE as a pile and click to send the stack to wow to be executed. WoW then works from the top down, attempting to execute every line. GSE will follow all Blizzard rules and can only test one GCD in the stack. However, as the GSE moves to the next line on the click of the mouse you can experiment with different options in the case that an ability is on cooldown.
GSE began as a fork from Semlar’s GnomeSequencer, but it has undergone numerous rewrites. There is now nothing left of the original source code.
