Why Spam Message Boards?

You're tired of bots, boosting services and other trolls taking over global channels such as "LookingForGroup". Would you like to only be able to see spam from "BRD?" It's possible! The add-on is designed to help you find the spam you're looking for. For example, you could type "LF" into the filter and then "wts.song" as an exclusion, so that you only get the appropriate messages.

This is a way to refine your search:

By SHIFT+LEFT-CLICKING on any spam messages on the Board, that player no longer appears on the Board -- great to squelch the bots, without having to fill your ignore! Just a couple of shift+clicks, and the bots are gone!

The "soft-mute list" is reset every time you open or log in, so that you may mute any item you don't want to hear at this moment.

Tip: Make a chat window with all of your global channels and hide it behind other chats so that you won't need to see it. Spam Message Board monitors them, but displays a more organized view.

What is it?

The chat add-on replaces/supplements the need to monitor various global channels for spamming messages that you're interested in (the left image above), by organizing them into a more organized message board. It also allows you to filter by a specific word, respond quickly, or muffle spammers. The addon's main purpose is to help you find the global spam messages that are of interest to you, such as spam from dungeons or trade offers.

It also provides the ability to create your own "LFM-style" raid/dungeon message, which makes it easy to update based on templates. This is seen as a secondary function of this addon.

List of Features

• This is a complete list of all the features this addon offers:
• The program listens to chats and posts them to your message board when they are repeated three times or contain key words such as "LFG", LFM", and "WTS" or your "Filter for" text.
• You can modify the text of "Filter For", so that you don't miss any messages.
• The timer displays the last spam message and automatically removes it after one minute.
• By keyword, you can filter messages by keywords (such as "UBRS", "ZF", or similar)
• Exclude all messages that contain keywords, such as messages that include "WTS" and "WTB".
• You can filter and exclude text using commas.
• Clicking left on an entry automatically starts a whisper for fast responses.
• By Shift-Left-Clicking an entry, you will prevent that user from appearing on your message board in the current session. This is perfect for softly ignoring spammers and boosters!
• Clicking right-click on an entry performs a "/who", which allows quick identification of the player.
• By pressing Shift+Right click, you can invite a player into your group.
• It provides a template for creating lightweight spam messages

/smb unmuteall  -  Clear list of soft-muted players

/smb reset          -  Reset window position and size

/smb timeout [s]  - Sets display time of spam in seconds (default 60)
