This is the second adventure map Co created by Captain Camel1 and Zoidflecker. We've put a solid chunk of time into this beast over the past month and would really appreciate any feedback on what we did well or what we could improve on for future adventure map builds. This has been a lot of fun in creating and we're hoping to expand our skills and ideas, so help us out by leaving a comment!
Map Features: Four temples to complete to open a pathway to a final labyrinth-like castle with plenty of secrets all throughout. RPG style gear progression and story telling. Several "cinematic" moments using wired contraptions. 3 bosses and 2 optional bosses with collecting loot as incentive(wing boss drops being the exception). the use of crafting and farming is encouraged for player progression with very few hard no's(no torches rope or placement of blocks). a quick travel feature. and a 5 stage Portal Maze area with a reward to aid you in your quest to save The Princess!
Rules: 1) Create a new Journey mode character
2) Disable God mode, Increased Tile Placement, and Infection Spread
3) Place all items into the provided 'Player Dump Chest' including mirror, rope, torches, wings, and finch staff
4) Set difficulty between x1.4 - x1.95 depending on what's comfortable for you.
You will be forced to use expert mode to make use of a certain item if you're lucky enough to find it!
5) Do not set spawn rate below x1. Altering spawn rate will affect game difficulty for some areas.
6) You may control time and weather as you wish. If naturally spawning enemies become too difficult try switching the time to day
7) Crafting is encouraged but limited to the provided crafting stations. Do not use the pickaxe at all. Do not use Wings from bosses
Do not place blocks. Do not use torches, rope, or platforms unless you are instructed to. Do not research anything!
8) Pay attention to signs and announcement box prompts for flavor text and clues of what you should do.
9) MOST IMPORTANT: Have fun! I've tried to give the player open access to all classes and playstyles although leaning towards melee.
There are A TON of items on this map. My intent is that you pick out what looks fun to you instead of getting overwhelmed with items.
Install:
Download this map and save it to the worlds folder for terraria. If you went with the recommended game install you will find the terraria folder under My PC>Documents>My Games>Terraria>Worlds
And that's it! just load Terraria and you will find the world is now playable!
