Pet Hats

This mod teaches your pets how to wear hats.

To make your pet wear a hat, select the hat as your current item and interact with the pet. Your pet will intelligently understand that you want it to wear the hat, and will take it from your inventory and place it on its own head instantaneously, because magic.

To retrieve the hat, interact with the pet again and once again it will know instinctively that you want the hat back and place it in your inventory.

With this mod, pets even know how to swap hats, so you can hold a second hat, interact with your pet, and the pet will swap with you.

This mod makes use of all sorts of magic to place each hat in the right position for each animation frame for cats and dogs. Magic is a finicky thing, though, and some hats might be worn askew. You can alter the magical JSON files in the mod's assets folder to adjust their positions. You can also post a screenshot and yell at me that it's bugged and I'll fix it.

You can also cast your own JSON magic affecting vanilla or modded hats using Content Patcher, targeting the following dictionary paths:

aedenthorn.PetHats/cats
aedenthorn.PetHats/dogs
aedenthorn.PetHats/hats

The dictionaries follow the formats of the three magical JSON files included with the mod.
